Taking Advantage of Mama (The final Part) Contd......

Ikem woke with a start. He looked at the luminous clock on the table. Two-thirty a.m it read. His phone rang again and he scrambled for it. "Ok Chief, I'll be right there. Thanks."

"What is it?" asked Mama Ifeanyi wearily as she stretched her arms.

"Nkoli's gone into labour."

Ikem's words acted as a spur to Mama Ifeanyi as she suddenly realised what she and her son-in-law had been up to. They both rapidly dressed and dashed for the car and Ikem drove as fast as he could.

They both waited anxiously in the room for news. Finally, Chief appeared in surgical gear and his mask pulled down. He smiled. "You have a healthy boy, Ikem. Congratulations." he said as he extended his hand.

And Nkoli?" Ikem asked anxiously.

"She's fine, Ikem. Just fine."

With that reassurance Ikem took his father-in-law's hand and shook it. Mama Ifeanyi also hugged her son-in-law.

Later that same morning Ikem sat beside Nkoli and held the tiny infant proudly in his hands. As the days went on Nkoli was discharged with her baby. The first thing she noticed was the Ikem and Mama Ifeanyi seem somehow reconciled. She put it down to baby chinedu seeing as they both doted on him. It made Nkoli very happy, unaware of her husband and her mother's secret.

As for Mama Ifeanyi, the arrival of baby Chinedu did little to alter her situation. Indeed, her son-in-law seemed to relish the idea of constantly planning different humiliating sexual encounters with him and others.  She was at his mercy.
